Auricle
The Auricle is located on the outer part of the ear, the auricle directs the sounds into the ear canal.
Ear Canal
The Ear Canal is located on the outer part of the ear and partially in the middle part of the ear, The ear canal directs the sound to the middle ear.
Eardrum
The Eardrum is located in the middle part of the ear at then end of the ear canal, The ear drum captures sounds and sends it down to the hammer.
Ossicles
The Ossicles is made up of three parts and located in the middle part of the ear, The Ossicles transmits sound waves from the ear drum, to the inner ear.
Oval Window
The Oval Window is located in the inner part of the ear and partially the middle part of the ear , The Oval window connects the middle and inner ear, which allows sound vibrations bouncing off the small bone to be transmitted.
Semicircular Canals
The Semicircular canal is located in the middle part of the ear, The semicircular canal helps you keep your balance.
Cochlear
The cochlear is located in the inner part of the ear, The cochlea has little hairs around it that send sounds to the auditory nerves.
Auditory Nerve
The Auditory nerve is located in the inner part of the ear, The auditory nerve sends hearing information to the brain.
Eustachian
The Eustachian tube is located in the inner part of the ear, The eustachian tube evens out the air pressure in the ear drum.

String telephones
How does the sound travel from one cup to another?
The sound wave travels across the string vibrating the string entering the cup where the sound is magnified and put into the ear.
Does the sound change if you make the string tighter or looser?
The sound changes when the string is tighter or looser and when the string is tighter the sound is more clearer because it is easier for the sound to travel across the string.
Would a string telephone work without cups?
No, Because the sound has travelled across the string and when it hits the bottom of the cup it vibrates and causes the air to vibrate which carries the sound to the ear and also the cup traps the sound so it doesn’t escape.
What is the purpose of the cups?
The purpose of the cups is to trap the sound and magnify the sound to the ear.
